Educational Linguistics focuses on core linguistic knowledge and its applications to phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic analysis for language teachers. Students are asked to analyze and compare the language structure of their mother tongue and a target language in order to find the similarities and differences. It deals with training and research in linguistics as it relates to the teaching and learning of English as a second/foreign Language. Topics include English structures and analysis, classroom English, English learners and interlanguage to promote language acquisition.
